Hotvibes I / Auguest 27th, 2001-Essex Junction, VT
HV: Can you start off with your names and ages? Anais:Im 13, No, Im 14 years old [laughs] I just turned 14. Rosie: Im 13 Faye: Im 13 Anna: Im 12
HV: Is it weird touring with another group from Sweden like the A*Teens? Rosie: Yeah, its so fun, we hang out Faye: Its great
HV: When can we expect to see your CDs in stores? All: Tomorrow HV: Really? All: The single Laila [manager]: Tomorrow or the first week of September
HV: Where is the first place you went when you came to America? Faye: New York HV: Did you like it? All: Yeah! Anais: Its so big
HV: Whats the best part of New York? Faye: Everything
HV: Is there anything that was just overwhelming? Rosie: Broadway Faye: Yeah, Broadway Rosie: Everything is so high and we looked up and were like, "Oh my god," because when you are at Broadway it feels like you are in a movie Anna: Yeah
HV: Being an up-coming group on the Aaron Carter Tour has the response been good so far? All: Yeah, its been great
HV: Who are your musical inspirations? All: Destinys Child Anais: I cant really say that Lil Bow Wow is my musical inspiration but I like his music All: [Laughs] Rosie: And Michael Jackson Anais: And Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey
HV: If you had to pick from a Grammy or a Platinum CD which one would you chose? Rosie: Thats a difficult question, I think I would pick a platinum CD because that shows people like you Anais: I would pick a Grammy I think, I would like a statue Faye: A Grammy Anna: Yeah Anais: I would pick both
HV: Have you been getting recognized in public a lot and have you had any weird fan experiences? Rosie: Not so many because were just starting out Anais: But we have some people who come up to us and say, "Hey your play, how are you guys". And we sign autographs and stuff Faye: We had one, a guy whos seen the show like 5 times or something and he comes with like big photos and we dont even know who he is. And hes like, "Can you sign, Can you sign" Anna: Yeah, every single time Anais: Hes nice though
HV: Have you waited in line for any group or artist? Rosie: For getting autographs? HV: Yeah Anais: I dont think so Faye: No
HV: Has there been any problems on stage with your performance? All: Yeah! Laila: Tell her about what happened yesterday Rosie: Was it yesterday? It was at the US Open and my pants broke on the stage when I was doing my dance step and I was like, "Oh my god" Anais: They broke in the middle Rosie: The whole back too and I was like, [makes face], it was horrible All: [Laughs] Anais: But sometimes the microphone doesnt work and I think thats embarrassing too because the audience doesnt hear what your saying so your like, "Let me hear you scream" and everybodys like silent Rosie: And I remember the first Aaron Carter show we did the music came on in the middle of the song and it was like, [sings] and were like, "Hi" and then we started singing
HV: Do you get homesick a lot? Anna: Yeah, a bit Faye: Yeah, I miss my friends a lot Anais: I dont get homesick when we have a lot of fun as we have on the Aaron Carter Tour because we have Aaron Carter and this band called, Code 5, and the A* Teens, and their friends on the tour so we have a lot of fun together. But when were like practicing, like we were practicing dance for three weeks and that was boring after a while then you get pretty homesick Anna: But you miss your friends All: Yeah, you miss your friends Rosie: And your family
HV: Are any of your parents on the road with you? Anna: Yes, my mothers here Faye: And my mother
HV: If you started hiccupping during a performance what would you do? All: [Laughs] Faye: I dont know I didnt think about that Rosie: I would like give the mic to Anais like, "Save me!" Anais: I dont know what I should do, I would continue Rosie: [Hiccups] All: [Laughs] Anais: I think maybe the others in the group would notice and maybe someone would take over the verse, I hope so All: [Laughs]
HV: Is there any Swedish food you miss the most? Faye: Swedish Meatballs Anna: Salt Licorice Rosie: Candies Anais: But we dont have any left Laila [Manager]: I have some in my suitcase Faye: Theyre mine, theyre from my mother Rosie: We like fighting about them because they are so good Laila [Manager]: I can go get them and you can try some Rosie: No one likes them in America, theyre like, "Oh my god" Anais: Everybody in America who tasted them is like, throwing up, they hate it Rosie: Yeah, Aaron Carter was like throwing up Anais Yeah, Aaron Carter was like, "BLAH!" Anna: And were like, "We love it!" Anais: They are very concentrated licorice with salt on it All: [Laughs]
HV: Do you do your own cooking while your on tour, like do your mothers cook? All: Yeah, cup noodles Laila: And they live on popcorn
HV: Is there any food in America you like better than in Sweden? Anais: I really like American pancakes, but I can take more than one pancake. Theyre really big! Faye: Yeah, and the onion rings, and chicken fingers Rosie: Theres a lot of fast food
HV: Is the Burger King and McDonalds in Sweden different, does it taste different? Anais: In America everythings bigger, even the food Rosie: Its what do you call it, fattening Anais: You also have a lot of what do you call it, diet things? HV: Low Fat? Anais: Yes, low fat Rosie: You have so nice shopping malls, they are like so big All: Yeah [Laila comes back with the licorice salt candy and opens the bag]
Laila: Now let me say that this is not dangerous in any way Rosie: You have to chew it Laila: Its licorice with salt on it, you have to chew it first. Dont spit it out first because its going to taste awful, chew it. Its called Djungelvral Screams and its salt and licorice.
[hands us a piece] Rosie: Come on All: Chew it, chew it.. HV: [makes a face] Laila: We gave it to Code 5 and they just spit it out Rosie: Its so funny because these guys are like so tough and big and they taste this and they are like throwing up HV: Oh my god thats gross! [referring to the candy] Anais: Well youre the first ones who didnt spit it out in your hands HV: The salt tastes bad, the black licorice, well I dont like black licorice, it would have tasted better sweet Laila: So you wouldnt have liked it anyway Anais: Yeah, thats what you have here, sweet things and sour things
HV: Are any of you related? All: No Laila: Annas related to Greta Garbo
HV: How did you guys get together? Anna: I was in a dance school and Laila here asked me if I wanted to be in a group and I was like, "of course, oh my god" Anais: It was actually the same thing for me I was in another musical by this dance school and I was singing and stuff and dancing so she asked if I could sing for her and I did Rosie: And she wanted 2 other girls so she had an audition back home with 700 girls and they picked us. And the funny thing was she didnt know that me and Faye were best friends, and when we met she was like, "Youre best friends?". Faye: Weve known each other for years.
HV: How much more touring do you have left? Anais: Weve been away for two months and we only have three days left, and then were going back to Sweden for 9 days and then were going back for a month Faye: 5 weeks Laila: For the Disney Tour
HV: Thats all the questions we have thanks for the interview!

You wanted more PLAY - you got it! Hot Vibes is proud to add our second interview with the Swedish girl quartet PLAY to the site. Hot Vibes first interviewed the girls last year when they were on Aaron Carters summer tour and we had the chance to catch up with them again this year when the "Pop Till You Drop" tour made a stop in Gilford, NH. It was refreshing to see that even with all their recent fame they still remain the same sweet and sincere girls that everyone can relate to. If you havent picked up their debut CD its in stores now! And while your there why not pick up the Soundtrack to Master of Disguise which features the songs, "MASTER pt. 1 & 2" featuring PLAY.
HV: How does the Aaron Carter tour differ from the Pop Till You Drop Tour? Anais: Oh its a huge difference I think for us because the first tour we did with Aaron Carter it was like our first real tour, that was one year ago. Have you guys heard about the first time we performed? No Anais: It was crazy because it was on the Aaron Carter tour like the first performance, it was like the first time we went onstage for like 4,000 people. We were like waving to people and we forgot the whole choreography and we were like, Hello [waves] this is cool. Anna: We were like, the show was great! and our manager was like.. Anais: Laila was like, no the show was not great it was so bad, it stunk big time." It was pretty much to like learn, the tour. Aaron was really cool, we like Aaron hes awesome. And I think this tour is more professional. All: Yeah Anais: And we get more into everything.
Are you planning on releasing your full length CD anytime soon in the US? Anais: I dont think so. Maybe in like the next album we do but not right now we have too many albums. The other one were working on right now and the other one is coming out in October I think. Have you guys started any songs for that yet? Anais: "MASTER Part 2" is going to be on the next album and "Remember to Forget" and we have a lot of new songs.
Who do you guys look up musically? Anais: Destinys Child I think weve been really influenced by. You toured with them right? All: Yeah Anais: Yeah we toured with them that was a dream come true. And the thing is we have really good contact with Destinys Child because we know them because we have the same manager and we work a lot together and we work a lot with their little sister Solange. Have you seen Master of Disguise the video? Yeah Anais: Shes in it.
Since you look up to Destinys Child who would you want to have look up to you in the future? Rosie: Who, or? What artist or band? Anais: I think its really, really nice that our fans to look up to us because thats an amazing feeling to have people, even anyone just looking up to you and we get all these letters and you guys. Its amazing to have you guys, thanks to you guys, if you werent here we wouldnt be here so its amazing to have fans. Its amazing to get those birthday gifts I got all those things, it was amazing to get those. Its really amazing to do this and get people to look up to you.
We heard rumors that just about everyone out of the group has dated Chris Trousdale, can you clear those up for everyone? All: Whaaaaat? [blushing] (to Anais) Mostly you All: Laughs Anais: We havent even met Dream Street. We havent met Jesse, Greg, whats their name? Frankie or Matt so we cant date them. And Chris, uh were not dating him. Im not dating him were just friends.
Are you dating anyone right now, any of you? Anais: Uhhh.. Is that thinking going on? All: Laughs Anais: No, no, I dont no.
You dont date because your on tour? Anais: No, Im not allowed to date (mocking) Are you dating Rosie? Are you dating Anna? All: Laughs Anna: Nope, no Im not dating.
How does it feel to have your song on a motion picture soundtrack like Master of Disguise? All: Its so cool Anais: But the bad thing about it is that we havent even seen the movie. Anna: We really wanna go see it! We havent either Anais: I know the lines like uh.. All: (imitates movie) "Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club? Turtle, Turtle" All: Laughs
What was it like working with Lila Fizz on MASTER Part 2? Rosie: We love it, it was great. Faye: Its great to have a rapper in our song. Anais: First of all we wanted to have Lil Bow Wow in one of our songs. Rosie: But that didnt work out so we had Lil Fizz instead. Anais: No, no no. We started working with B2K because we met them and then were like yeah, "Why not Lil Fizz? Hes cute!"
How was the making the video for that anyways? Its pretty colorful! Anais: Youve seen like these elevators that are moving up and down that was actually a big elevator that we got to stand in. All: They were going up and down. Faye: Yeah they were going up and down and we were like, "ahhh." Rosie: (pretending shes on the elevator waving to them) hello Faye, hello Anais, hello Anna. Anais: We were like, "do you wanna come over to my place in my elevator?" We had a lot of fun it was awesome.
How do the American crowds differ from the European crowds? Faye: Theyre very different. All: Yeah Anais: Theres a huge difference! In Europe there not as loud. A lot of groups said Europe is louder Anais: No, its not at all. Faye: But France theyre like Anais: Oh France! Faye: The first day we released our single that day we went to Paris and the first day people were like, "OH MY GOD, Play, Play!" Rosie: We just came here today! All: Laughs Anna: We were walking like 10 meters from the hotel and.. Anais: Do you guys count in meters..? We know, we learn both in school. Anais: What do you guys have you have like feet? We have yards and feet and inches. You guys have centimeters and meters right? Anais: Yeah, we have centimeters, meters and kilometers. You have kilometers right? We have miles but we learn them both in school Anna: We have miles too but its different. Anais: Thats really good we dont learn both. Oh we just got back to school yesterday.
Really? Do you guys have a tutor? Rosie: Yeah we have a tutor with us. Anais: Did you see her? She was the one with the glasses. Rosie: Shes really nice!
How long do you do everyday? Anais: Like four hours everyday.
How has the Limited 2 Tour been going and what do you plan on doing with the contest winner who wins the part in your video? Do you know what song your doing? Anais: We dont even what is that? Rosie: Laughs Anais: Weve seen posters, Be in a real video with Play and were like, "What is that?" Its for the dance contest. You have to be 7 - 14 and you have to dance to "Disco Hippie" Rosie: I think its "Disco Hippie" All: Yeah Anais: Were not doing any more videos right now so I dont even know what it is. Anna: What video are you talking about? Anais: You know the posters that are like, Be in a real video with Play? Rosie: But I think its like the camera thats been following us when were were signing autographs and theyve been filming. Anais: Ohh yeah. HV:If your one of the 10 who's ticket number is drawn you get to go onstage and they narrow the 10 down to three and then the tree to one. And if you win you get something and then they draw one name from all the grand prize winners at each mall. Anais: You win a signed CD. Rosie: But I think they like film it. Anais: I dont know. Because we did the last show yesterday but were doing something else with them, were doing other stuff, yeah.
Are you taking a break when this tour is over? Anais: When this tour is over were doing another tour, I dont know what tour it is yet. We know were going on tour but we dont know what the name of the tour is or who its with. Is it going to be here? Anais: Its in America, yeah. Were going home.. Rosie: The 21st Anais: In late September for one week and then were coming back to America to promote our Christmas single.
Youre having a Christmas single? Anais: Yeah its the soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast 2.
What song are you guys doing do you know? Anais: (sings) "As long as theirs Christmas.."
How long does it take you to learn your choreography? Anais: How long did it take us to learn the Chris choreography? Rosie: Like one day, 8 hours. Anais: About 8 hours yeah. Faye: And MASTER was like two days. Thats crazy, thats a hard dance Rosie: Its very hard that choreography. Anais: No that took us two days but we have to we have no choice. If we could have like one month wed take one step by day but we had two days and that was it.
Out of all the acts that youve toured with which has been your favorite? All: Destinys Child. Anais: But for fun, that was more professional and really inspiring but for fun I think it would be Aaron. Rosie: Yeah Aaron. Anais: But it happened like a lot of funny stuff on that tour.
Those are all the questions we have for you, thanks for the interview!
