BEST-SELLING SWEDISH POP QUARTET PLAY WELCOMES NEW MEMBER JANET LEON New Album, Don't Stop The Music, Currently In Production (dateline - New York - Columbia Records - December 15, 2003)
Play, the sensational Swedish pop vocal quartet, has welcomed new member Janet Leon to the group and begun recording Don't Stop The Music, the eagerly-awaited new Play album.
Janet, a native of Göteborg, Sweden, is both a longtime friend of the group and a dedicated fan of Play's music. An extremely talented vocalist and performer in her own right, Janet had submitted a demo to Play founder/co-manager Laila Bagge a couple of years ago. When original Play member Faye Hamlin expressed her desire to leave the group in order to return to school and pursue her personal goal of higher education, the remaining members--Anaïs Lameche, Anna Sundstrand, and Rosie Munter--felt that Janet Leon would be an ideal choice for the group's new line-up.
"We've loved working with Faye and are very excited for her in all her future endeavors. We will always be the best of friends with many happy memories to share," said Anaïs, Anna and Rosie. "We're also very fortunate to be able to continue making our music with our good friend Janet. We'd like to ask all our fans in joining us in welcoming Janet to Play and to help her feel at home in the group."
Play is currently in the studio working on Don't Stop The Music, the brand new Play album. The newly-configured Play has already finished recording seven newly composed songs, including "Hand In Hand" and "You Found Me," as well as some well-chosen covers that will surprise and delight the group's fans.
Don't Stop The Music will be available in March 2004.

Have u seen the movie "The Cheetah Girls"? bc if u didn't, here's the scoop. Well there's a pic of them @ the top. They r 4 girlz who want to win it BIG. They applie in thier school talent show. N guess which song they sung! Cinderella! Then after the song is over, a record producer shows up n loves the song. But what really got us mad is what we say next,"Hi i am (Ravens person she is playing) i am the founder of the Cheetah Gilrz n the writer of "Cinderella." They didn't even give any credit to Play! mad us so mad! lolz

It turns out Columbia felt it would be important for Play tour overseas, including: Holland, France and England. Thats the reason for Play not being able to make the Aaron Carter Tour, although they will be in Los Angeles towards the end of this month the record a video for a re-release of Annie. Play will be doing the single for the movie and the video will be included as an extra on the DVD!
In the beginning of the year Popstar held the 2nd Annual Popstar Awards. Play won for Poptastic Group, beating other acts like OTown, B2K & Good Charlotte! Playfan.de won 2nd place as 'Poptastic Fan Website' and Play also got 3rd place for 2003 Poptastic Rising Music Act!! Way to go Play!!!
